ZOOM ZOOM - Let's go racing at Kansas! This week's official tailgate tip of the week is focused on the great state of Kansas and the fact that both NASCAR and ARCA will be packing Kansas Speedway with fans this weekend. When you think Kansas you have to think about barbecue!

Its pretty much a given! So, in honor of some great barbecue ideas I'm pulling from my cookbooks and going with a few sauce ideas! Fix up a batch at the house and take the sauce to the track for your ribs, pork, chicken, dogs, brawts, and burgers!

Kent's KC Barbecue Sauce

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

6 cloves garlic, fine chopped/minced

3 tablespoons tomato paste

1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder

1 1/2 tablespoons paprika

2 teaspoons crushed red pepper

2 1/2 cups ketchup

2 1/2 cups water

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

1/3 cup molasses

1/3 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon salt

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon yellow mustard

1 teaspoon black pepper

Combine it all in a sauce pan and simmer over low heat for about an hour. Allow to cool on the stove before storing in the fridge!
