Florida Atlantic (FAU) has withdrawn the resignation of their now former football coach Carl Pelini in order to let him know that he's been officially fired! Dennis Crudele, FAU interim President, sent Pelini an official letter on Tuesday, saying that the school is firing him because he ''failed to timely report certain conduct'' of a member of his staff.
That's a bit different from what sports writers and football fans have been thinking since Pelini resigned on October, 30 after allegations of illegal drug use - a claim that Pelini has denied.
Initial reports are that Pelini will not appeal the decision of the University. Now... by being fired and not resigning, Pelini now probably will not be held responsible for a $500,000 separation fee.
