So, how much did the drivers make after the Indy 500? Great question - I've had a couple of race fans ask me how much money was in the winner's pocket after winning the Indianapolis 500 this past Memorial Day weekend. In case you missed it, Ryan Hunter-Reay and Helio Castroneves along with Marco Andrettiput on one heck of a finish in the final laps. After some crazy stock car style moves and late lap passes Hunter-Reay took the lead and won the 98th running of the Verizon IndyCar Series Indy 500. Hunter-Reay, an American, brought home the win to the States, got some milk, and pocketed some cash. See below for the breakdown.
